Carin van Iersel is a initiator of the Foundation Shadow. She grew up in a entrepreneurs family where working and having cares for each other was normal. She has been active in board positions on a social front for reatailers associations and sport associations. She owns an accounting firm which does the accounting, management, human resources and customer realations for several businesses , foundations and associations.
After 15 years in the business World she decided to follow a new direction and enrolled and finished an undergraduate degree in stress counseling and management. And she also has an undergraduate degree in Psychological support for people in their end of life -fase and bereavement counseling. When Carin is in the Netherlands she is a volunteer in a Hospice and she takes courses to improve her knowledge. She takes these courses at the University mbt of theology and religion in society and cultural studies is a big interest of Carin.
Besides that she has taught classes at high schools for the project “dangerous love”. She has her own counseling office and she helps people and reorganisations inside busnisses. With the money she makes with that she has went to Oeganda multiple times as a volunteer that’s how she got involved in this project. She was asked to contibute and coordinate and manage the culturural, social and moral well being of the locals in the District Tororo society.
